Chair, Board of Directors

Ali Akbar Sadeqi

Ali Akbar Sadeqi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration

and a Postgraduate Certificate in Financial Planning. He brings more than 20 years of experience in community organizing, financial and administrative management, development project management, educational services, and organizational development within nonprofit organizations. Throughout his professional career, he has worked with diverse communities and supported initiatives focused on education, social services, and leadership development. His professional background includes project coordination, building community and strategic partnerships, and strategic planning

As Chair of the Board of Directors at Aligned Impact Mission (AIM), Sadeqi provides strategic leadership and oversight in advancing the organization’s mission. Working closely with board members, community partners, and the executive team, he supports initiatives that expand economic opportunity, strengthen social well-being, advance education, encourage entrepreneurship, and empower immigrant and underserved communities. He also advocates for effective collaboration among social, educational, business, and public-sector institutions and plays a leadership role in developing programs that promote digital literacy, future workforce readiness, access to opportunity, and community resilience.

He holds deep values centered on culture, knowledge, respect for individual differences, and a strong focus on long-term goals. His commitment to the community is grounded in sharing knowledge and experience with others, providing professional guidance, and contributing to the expansion of awareness and understanding. He believes that sustainable community development is achieved through education, collaboration, and the empowerment of individuals. Alongside his professional and civic responsibilities, he has a strong interest in studying philosophy and psychology, which he considers essential for personal growth, a deeper understanding of human behavior, and the improvement of effective leadership practices.

Treasurer

Mohammad Naser Timory

Mr. Timory joined USIP (US Institute of Peace) as Afghanistan Research Analyst in September 2022. Previously, he worked with Integrity Watch Afghanistan as a researcher and later as head of policy advocacy from January 2015 to June 2022. He conducted several research reports for Integrity Watch Afghanistan including National Integrity System Assessment (2015), Community Score Card of Kabul Municipality (2016), Fighting Corruption in Afghanistan: Solving the Institutional Puzzle (2016), and Game of Numbers: Analyst of Afghan National Budget (2017).

As head of policy advocacy, he championed the cause of anti-corruption in Afghanistan by presenting research findings to the public through media, participating in high-level government platforms including National Procurement Commission headed by the President of Afghanistan and working with communities to advocate for the rights of victims of corruption. He was previously an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Herat University and a lecturer of political science at a private college.

Mr. Timory has a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Fergusson College (Pune) and completed his Master’s in International Relations from South Asian University (New Delhi).

Board Secretary

Nasrin Shinwari

Ms. Nasrin Shinwari holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Management and brings a diverse professional background in community services, administration, and technology. She has worked in roles including Community Health Supervisor, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Assistant, and Human Resources and administrative support positions, where she developed experience in strategic planning, case management, leadership, and technical operations. In addition to her academic background, Nasrin has completed cybersecurity and Information Technology (IT) training programs in the United States, further strengthening her technical and professional expertise. Her experience working with Afghan populations and multicultural teams has allowed her to build strong communication, problem-solving, and community engagement skills.

As the Board Secretary, Nasrin plays an important role in supporting organizational governance, communication, and administrative coordination. She works closely with fellow board members and leadership to maintain accurate records, support board operations, and contribute to the organization’s strategic and community outreach efforts. Her background in administration, technology, and program coordination enables her to assist with organizational planning, communication processes, and operational effectiveness while helping strengthen services for Afghan families and underserved communities.

Nasrin is passionate about community empowerment, justice, and creating meaningful opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds. She values teamwork, integrity, cultural understanding, and compassionate leadership as important foundations for building strong communities and sustainable organizations. Fluent in Pashto, Dari, English, Arabic, and Urdu, she believes in using communication and collaboration to bridge cultural gaps and support inclusive environments. Outside of her professional and board responsibilities, she enjoys supporting community initiatives, mentoring others, and contributing to programs that promote resilience, unity, and positive social impact.

Founder & Board Member

Dr. Masoud Juya

Dr. Juya is a nonprofit leader, educator, entrepreneur, and community development professional dedicated to strengthening communities through service, innovation, and sustainable impact. As a Founder and Board Member, Dr. Juya brings a mission-driven leadership approach centered on empowerment, collaboration, and creating opportunities for underserved populations. His work reflects a strong commitment to nonprofit values including integrity, inclusion, accountability, and community-centered development, with a focus on building systems and programs that promote long-term social and economic well-being.

Dr. Juya holds a multidisciplinary academic background that bridges healthcare, education, research, and organizational leadership. He earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of North Texas, a Master’s degree in Health Policy and Management, and completed his medical education as a physician in Afghanistan. A lifelong learner and educator, he has taught entrepreneurship, business planning, management, and professional development while mentoring emerging leaders and professionals across different sectors. His educational foundation supports a leadership philosophy grounded in evidence-based decision-making, strategic planning, and continuous learning.

Throughout his career, Dr. Juya has founded and helped develop multiple institutions and initiatives spanning education, healthcare, nonprofit development, and community services. His leadership experience includes nonprofit governance, organizational development, workforce initiatives, fundraising strategy, operational management, and building partnerships that strengthen communities. Guided by values of ethical leadership, resilience, innovation, and service, Dr. Juya is committed to empowering individuals and organizations to thrive while fostering meaningful, lasting impact through collaboration and community engagement.
