Aligned Impact Mission (AIM) is a nonprofit organization based in California. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our donors, volunteers, program participants, employees, and website visitors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you visit our website at aimission.us (the "Site"), interact with our programs, or otherwise engage with us online or offline.

This Policy is designed to comply with applicable U.S. federal law and California law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA"), the California Online Privacy Protection Act ("CalOPPA"), and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"). No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our Site uses cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use our Site. You may control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may limit certain Site functionality. AIM does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, as no uniform industry standard for such signals has been adopted; however, because AIM does not sell or share personal information, opt-out mechanisms for behavioral advertising are not applicable at this time.

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with our legal and tax obligations as a nonprofit organization, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and applicable legal requirements.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, consistent with COPPA. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. Any images or videos of minors appearing on our Site or materials are used with the written consent of the minor's parent or legal guardian.
